Meet Aiden. Aiden is a brave 9-year-old boy.π September 16th, 2016 was the day this family’s life changed forever. After complaining of headaches and fatigue, Aiden was taken for an MRI, that revealed a massive brain tumor – medulloblastoma – at just 7 years old, Aiden underwent a 16-hour surgery to remove the monster, in which he could have lost his life.
This surgery, however, made Aiden incapable of walking, talking and swallowing.
Aiden then traveled to Boston for Proton radiation, 6 weeks later and 34 rounds of radiation later, Aiden and his family then returned to Toronto for 6 months of intensive chemotherapy… 6 months later he started talking again!
In June of 2017, his treatments finished, and scans looked good, NED. From June to September, Aiden did rehabilitation and finally went home! Able to walk with a walker. Due to feeding issues, he still needs his G-tube.
This boy who once fought for his life returned to his “normal” life. Just after Thanksgiving of 2017, Aiden returned to school. In just a short time, Aiden’s mom took him to Toronto for his 6-month scan, only to find out the cancer was back.
Aiden is now again undergoing treatment to beat this monster, once again.
