Juliana Carver was a courageous kid. At just 5 years old, she was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma stage 3 – a soft tissue tumor, on February 20th, 2007. She fought for 9 years.

After treatment, Juliana reached NED (no evidence of disease – cancer free) on June 12th, 2007.  She remained cancer free for only 4 years until she relapsed – from there Juliana relapsed 7 times. That’s right, this girl defeated cancer 8 times.
March 18th, 2011, June 5th, 2012, March 18th, 2014, July 12th, 2015, February 10th, 2016 and September 28, 2016 – All the times Juliana was told the cancer was back.

Totally, Juliana had 20 surgeries- 8 biopsies, inserting/removing ports, Hickman lines, and a pleurex catheter and eyelid surgery after the removal of the tumors.

She received 64 rounds of IV chemo + 2 years of oral chemotherapy; 149 days of radiation therapy + full body irradiation before receiving a bone marrow transplant on April 9th, 2016. Unfortunately, cancer did not care who Juliana was or how incredibly strong she was – Juliana passed away on October 24th, 2016, at 14 years old.
Families are torn apart, all due to cancer – this why more funding is needed, to stop so much suffering. Fly high Juliana, you deserved so so much better. 💛👼
