Jackson

” Sometimes Superheroes reside in the hearts of small children fighting big battles”

At 16 months old, Jackson was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, on July 18th, 2017. It was located on his testicle ( Paratesticular ), so little Jackson needed surgery to remove the tumor as well as the affected testicle.
Following the surgery, he received 3 chemo drugs over the course of 24 weeks (6 months) – one of them being Vincristine, known for being neurotoxic – it caused Jackson to have neuropathy, in his case, it causes leg pain as well as incontinence (inability to hold pee). Another chemo drug caused possible bladder damage. Jackson often complains of chest pains, also due to the chemo drugs he took. Jackson just graduated 1.5 years of physical therapy, due to the neuropathy!
Cancer life doesn’t end there – Jackson has years and years ahead of him filled with appointments, MRIs, CT-scans, pokes and needles, fear.
The worst part is that the protocol used for Jackson… Is over 40 years old. Yes, there have been absolutely NO CHANGES in 40 years… Congestive heart failure, Leukemia, and secondary cancers are just a few of the possible side effects of the protocol. We need treatment that doesn’t cause other cancers!
Jackson’s cancer-free since January of 2018! A big thumbs up for Jackson! Yesterday (March 10th, 2019) was his 3rd birthday, so we want to wish him the happiest of birthdays! 💛

We love you, buddy,💛
