In Loving Memory of Xander Murillo.
Xander was a happy and cheeky baby. Wherever he went, he’d be smiling with a smile that could light up a room!
On January 17th, 2018, Xander’s Parents took him to the ER when Xander stopped moving his right arm completely. He was then diagnosed with Chordoma, a slow-growing type of cancer. Although cancer normally grows fast, this isn’t the case for Chordoma. It can grow both on the brain and spine!
Xander’s tumor was on his brain. Surgery was attempted to remove the tumor completely, but only part of it came out as it was too far deep into the brain.
He was 2 and a half years old at the time.
Even though the Doctors claimed Xander’s tumor was from birth, there was no evidence whatsoever; He never had a single problem up until the day of diagnosis.
In order to breath, Xander required a trach tube. A trach tube is a small opening in the trachea, that allows a tube to access the lungs and lets the air in.
Alternative treatments such as RSO – a known cannabis-based oil known to help cancer patients – were tried on Xander by his loving parents who wanted the best for their little boy.
Later on, scans revealed the cancer was dying! The tumor was no longer active.
However, a part of the dead tumor had wrapped around the brain’s most important artery – leaving Xander’s blood pressure out of control, suppressing blood flow.
Xander passed away surrounded by so much love; Xander was immensely loved by his mama and daddy, as well as his brother. He flew to heaven on September 17th, 2018, exactly 8 months after diagnosis. It was very unexpected as Xander was actually improving.
Xander was really smart, always smiling and never ever complained of pain during this whole cancer journey.
He is dearly missed.
Rest in Peace, Warrior Boy.
